1. What are you most proud of on your product website? Explain what it is and why you are proud of that specific item. This could be a design, layout, image, navigation, etc.2.
2. Looking back on the website process and after seeing other students websites, what would you have done differently? Would you have spent more time on it? Mapped out the original idea better? Explain.
3. Thinking about just the "interaction" element of your website; meaning how the user interacts with the design and layout - where they click and how they navigate through the site. What did you do to make this easier on the user? What could you have done better to make the interaction of your site better? Explain.
4. Think back to all the websites you looked at yesterday in class, was there a website that stood out to your or was a favorite of yours (besides your own)? What made it good? Why was it your favorite. Explain.
5. If you were to give advice to future web design students about this project, what would you tell them? Why would you tell them that?

I am most proud of the fact that i  made such a good looking website. I never thought that i would be able to. The best was probably the layout. i really liked the layout that i had.

I would have done nothing different i loved the way my website was and how i created. I really liked how it looked like a lot of websites that i go on.

I made it easy because everything was very easy to get to. one thing i could have done was make the footer link to all the pages.

There wer a few but what made them stick out was the work that they put in. It took them hard work but it looked like a professional website.

I would say make sure you listen to the teacher because if you miss something then you will be confused for the rest of the project so just try to follow along with the teacher.

Journal - Reflect on your product website so far. What have you learned? What do you like about your website? What have you found frustrating? What do you wish you knew before you started? Go in to detail about the learning process as you have built this site.

The website itself has gone well. I have learned to do a lot of different things that i had no idea how to do before. What i like about my website is that i have a lot of products on it. There are a lot of different basketball shoe choices. The most frustrating is trying to get all of the pages linked up. I wish i would have laid out my website a little better. I have learned essentially how to make a website. I learned how to get a drop down menu.

Journal - Tell me about the color scheme of your product website? What is it? Why did you choose these colors? How do these color relate to your target market and audience? How do the colors relate to the product? What plans do you have to make these colors work for your site?

My color scheme is grey, white, black, and red. It is a shoe provider for men. I choose these colors because i thought it would look great with my products. They relate because they are cool a common colors. I am going to make sure that the colors are blended well.

Journal – what did you choose for your product website? What is your idea behind the site? Describe your site in a paragraph.

I choose to do men basketball shoes.  It has all the essential basketball supplies you will need to have to play basketball. There is equipment, shoes, accessories, and fan gear. There are many options for all of the drop down tabs.

Journal - What have you learned about copyrights when it comes to web design and images this semester? Why is it important to give credit where credit is due (even if it is a lot of work)?
I have learned that you cant just take any image off of Google  Also if you do you have to cite your image or else it is illegal. you have to give credit to the person that owns the image.

Tuesday, October 8th

Journal - Tell me about your Homecoming weekend (whether you went to the activities or not!). Tell me about what you did over the weekend.

On saturday i woke up at 12 and i played video games until about 4:45. Then i got ready to go to pictures for homecoming. After we took pictures we went to dinner at some place i have no idea. Then went to the dance, but not for that long. Last we went to the after party and i drove home at about 1:15. On sunday i did stuff around the house and played more video games.

Monday, October 7th

Journal - Go Google "website wireframe". What do you find? Look at images and web content. What is a wireframe? How can a wireframe be helpful and give you ideas when creating and designing a website?

I found a lot of websites about it. A wire frame is a blueprint of a website. It shows all of the basic framework. Because when you look at a wireframe it could give you an idea  of what to make the website look like.

Thursday, September 19th

Journal - What kind of knowledge do you have in photo editing programs? Do you know how to use Photoshop? Fireworks? Or how about online programs such as Pixlr or Sumo Paint? How do you edit photos or create images? Explain.

I have worked with Photoshop before in another class and it was real easy. I have never used fireworks before. Never used those programs either. Editing a photo is easy depending on what you do such as if you  just touch up an image or if you make minor adjustments.

Journal - Tell me about your weekend. Where did you go? What did you do?

Over the weekend I went to a party with a lot of my friends. Then my friend came over and we did some stuff like play basketball and Xbox. It was a fun weekend and I had a great time.

Journal - What are some things that you have wished you could do in Dreamweaver that you haven't been able to do? What do you want to learn how to do when making a website? Explain.

I wish that I could have been able to put two pictures in one slide without it being difficult.  I want to learn how to create all of the little details like to links and the buttons lighting when you go over them. Also I want to learn how to create a easy navigating website.

Journal - What makes a website “user friendly”? Elaborate on your answer.

I think you have to have and easy navigation system throughout the website. If you don't have this then people will be confused and just leave your site. Also you have to have an easy layout. you cant have everything all over the place it has to be organized. last i think you have to have a fun and cool background or else  it is just a boring website.

Tuesday, September 2

Journal - List all the different file types you can think of. What types of files and images do you think are best for a website? What do you know about copyrights? How do you avoid using copyrighted images?

I think that you need to keep everything in one file for that one website otherwise things may get lost very easily. Image wise you need keep all of them in a file as well. Copyrights are things that protect someone elses work. If they have something copyrighted then you cant use it and say it is your work. Look for the symbol it is a c somewhere on the image.

Journal - What have you learned about making a website so far? What has been easy about it and what has been frustrating? Explain.

I have learned that making a website can take time and takes a lot of citing. you have to site almost everything that you put on the website. The most frustrating part is definitely citing everything like i just said. It just is a pain in the butt to do.

Journal - Tell me if you agree with this statement and then explain why or why not. "Images on the internet are 'free game' - if someone posted I should be able to use it."

Yes, because if you are going to post it on the internet then you should expect people to use it. If you don't want people to use your image then it shouldn't be on the internet. There is no reason why someone should their work on the internet and not think that some is going to use it. It is simple if you don't want people using your work then you shouldn't put it on the internet.

Journal - What do you know about plagiarism? What do you know about plagiarism on the internet? Howdo web design, the internet and plagiarism all effect each other? Explain

I know that plagiarism is not a good thing. It is when you take someones work and say it is yours. It happens a lot everywhere. It can happen on the internet or just copying pages from a book. It is not legal first of all and people just shouldn't copy someone elses work. I know that it is really common to find plagiarized work on the internet. Also know it is really easy to plagiarist work on the internet. People do it all the time in school which is probably why you are making us talk about it. Well it effects each other because people use all of these things and you find plagiarism the most on the internet. This is because it is the easiest to copy pieces of work on the internet. Also we are doing web design in this class and using the internet and you are trying to tell us not to plagiarism.

Journal - After watching the short clip of Ashton Kutcher's acceptance speech what did you take away from his advice? What does this quote mean to you -"Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use."

What I took from his speech was be smart, be nice and kind and be yourself. Don't let people influence you be yourself. The quote means the world is made up by people not smarter then us and what we call life is not really what life should be about. It should be about people doing what they want to do. Also influence your own life don't let the world form your life build your own and be yourself rather then what the people around you want you to be.
